Delete your account or download your data

See everything Moonbox's servers keep about you, download it as a file, or delete your account. What you made on your Mac is never on our servers.

What our servers keep

Everything you make stays on your Mac. Moonbox’s servers keep only what lets you sign in and download tools: your email address, the Macs you use Moonbox on, your invite, and a history of account events such as Macs being added or removed. The privacy policy lists all of it and how long it’s kept.

Download your data

  1. Open Moonbox and go to Settings › Account.
  2. Under Your data, choose Download my data.

Moonbox saves moonbox-account-data.json to your Mac. It holds:

  • your account: email address, when you joined and were last seen, and when you joined the beta;
  • each of your Macs: its name, model, chip, memory, memory tier, macOS and Moonbox versions, its public device key, and when it was added and last seen;
  • your waitlist entry, if you have one;
  • the history of your account: Macs added and removed, offline passes, invites used and earlier exports.

Your creations aren’t in it, because they were never on our servers.

Delete your account

  1. Open Moonbox and go to Settings › Account.
  2. Under Delete account, choose Delete account….
  3. If you also want to free the disk space, tick Also remove all models from this Mac.
  4. Choose Delete account.

This deletes your account at our sign-in provider and everything our servers keep about you: your Macs and any waitlist entry with your email address. Entries in the account history stop naming you. Every Mac is signed out and Moonbox removes its sign-in details from this Mac’s Keychain. It can’t be undone.

What stays: everything you made, and the downloaded models unless you ticked the box. You can keep using the models you have; downloading more needs an account.

Your Mac needs to be online to delete the account. If it isn’t, nothing is deleted and you stay signed in: try again when you’re back online.

Just this Mac

To stop using Moonbox on one Mac without deleting your account, remove it under Settings › Account › Macs, or sign out on it. Signing out keeps your models and everything you made.

Write to us using the contact details at the end of the privacy policy and we’ll export or delete your data for you.
