Reporting a problem
How to tell us about a problem from inside Moonbox: Send Feedback, Save Diagnostics, what to include, and what we never see.
Send Feedback
In Moonbox, choose Help › Send Feedback. Your mail app opens a new email to [email protected] with a few details already filled in, so we can tell which Mac and version you’re on:
- the Moonbox version and update channel;
- your macOS version, chip and memory tier;
- the versions of the tools you’ve installed.
It never includes your files, prompts, creations or email address (your mail app adds your address when you send it, as with any email). Read it before sending and change anything you like: nothing is sent until you press Send.
What to include
- What you did: the tool you used and the steps, as far as you remember them.
- What you expected, and what happened instead, with any message Moonbox showed. A screenshot helps.
- When it happened, and whether it happens every time.
Please don’t send passwords, sign-in links or codes from sign-in emails: we never need them.
Save Diagnostics
If we ask for more detail, or Moonbox won’t start, choose Help › Save Diagnostics. Moonbox saves a zip file of its recent logs, with personal details taken out: your home folder, the folders that hold your creations and Moonbox’s data, and any sign-in tokens or keys. It also notes the Moonbox version and channel, the macOS version, and your Mac’s model, chip and memory.
The zip stays on your Mac. You choose whether to attach it to your email; Moonbox never sends it by itself. Open it first if you’d like to see what’s in it.
Crash reports are separate
If Moonbox crashes, it can send a crash report on its own the next time it opens. That’s separate from Send Feedback and Save Diagnostics, holds no personal data, and you can turn it off in Settings › Privacy. See crash reports.
